SENIOR LIFESTYLE LIVING
PROPOSALS, 2018 - 2019
In an effort to cater for the ageing population of Australia, we have undertaken research into ways in which we can improve the on the current designs for multi-residential, senior living facilities. The above images show our design proposal for a new facility which aims to ease the transition from single family dwellings to ‘Senior Lifestyle Living’ communities as well as having a resort-like feel.
THE WAVERLEY BREWHOUSE
WESTFIELD CAROUSEL, 2018
We were engaged by a client who we’d previously worked with to assist with the interior design services for this large tavern in Westfields Carousel development. Working alongside the team at Finespun, we have created a design that is extremely functional, family friendly and incorporates traditional Western Australian design elements with an industrial edge.
The smaller of the two function spaces in the Astor Theatre, the Astor Lounge was in desperate need of updating. Before the renovations the space had heavily worn carpet, light coloured curtains covering the walls, very basic wall lights and mint coloured paint to the columns.
We proposed a warmer, softly lit space that included bespoke fabric panelling to the walls to assist with the acoustics in the space. The updates to the Lounge make the space feel much more inviting, function more effectively and still pays homage to the art deco style of the building.
HILLARYS BOAT HARBOUR, 2018
The above images depict our proposal for a 500+ person venue in Hilary’s Boat Harbour. Our client requested a design that inspired the colours of the Western Australian coastal regions yet also felt bright, clean and not just like a ‘dining hall’. Our proposal offered multiple dining ‘zones’ which were defined by the furniture each space.
GLEN HELEN LODGE
ALICE SPRINGS, 2018
Glen Helen Lodge is a complex that includes a motel, restaurant and camp grounds located in the West MacDonnell Ranges in Central Australia. We were engaged by the Ngurratjuta/Pmara Ntjarra Aboriginal Corporation to assist with the refurbishment of the dining spaces (indoor & outdoor) and accommodation rooms. Within the dining areas we selected finishes that would be both hardwearing and reflected the palette of the surrounding Australian landscape.
JOONDALUP RESORT, 2017
Prior to the renovation of Joondalup Resort’s Bistro 38, the space felt tired and stuck in the 80’s. The refurbishment included the design of a new buffet counter with integrated induction heating, power and storage facilities, the design of a new front counter, beverage station, wall finishes (including a bespoke timber panelled wall), lighting and furniture selection.
Our clients were extremely impressed with the outcome and left us an outstanding review on detailing their appreciation. “Sharon Wiley was excellent to work with from initial consultation to implementation of the project…. The restaurant looks better than I ever expected with some unique features that I did not imagine possible on a relatively meagre budget... Would highly recommended... ability to understand clients needs.” See the full review here.
PRINCE LANE BAR
PERTH CBD, 2017
We were engaged by the owners of Prince Lane Bar to assist with the refurbishment of the ground floor and rooftop bar of this three-storey bar and restaurant. We proposed unique finishes to classic furniture designs that seamlessly integrated the new furniture with the existing quirky aesthetic.
